Farah Khan wants to end Salman-SRK war

Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan
Farah Khan, who is a common friend of Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, wants to play the peacemaker between the two actors.

The choreographer-turned-director, believes that the fight between the actors is getting longer.

"I wish I could bridge the gap. I love both of them. It's (the fight) getting longer now," Farah told PTI.

Farah, who has turned a chat-show host with 'Tere Mere Beach Mein' had Salman Khan and his mother as her first celebrity guests while she is planning to bring Shah Rukh in the final episode.

"Since Salman had never come on a chat show before and was very candid during the show, we made him the first guest. But Shah Rukh will be the last one to keep the audience hooked till the end," she says.

The two Khans of Bollywood have not been on talking terms since last year, with both taking regular digs at each other in public, after a fight at the birthday party of Salman's girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Interestingly, Shah Rukh owned Red Chillies is one of the producers of the show.

Salman and Shah Rukh shared friendly relations in the industry and they even starred together in the 1995 hit movie 'Karan Arjun'.

Sagarika Ghatge in Bikini

Sagarika Ghatge in Bikini
Sagarika Ghatge, still remembered as Preeti Sabarwal from Chak De! India, is back with her second film. The actress who stood out from among her team mates for her good looks has been seen on hoardings instead of movies. Why the big gap in the two films? It’s definitely not something that a newcomer would want, right?

“It was not a deliberate attempt to stay away from movies. But after Chak De..., I wanted to do only good movies. It took me time to select the right kind of film,” she says. And despite having a huge starcast in Chak De, and her next release Fox being a multistarrer as well, Sagarika isn’t adamant about wanting a solo lead film. “It’s the whole package deal that one has to look at. But if the role is good I wouldn’t be worried about its length,” she says.

And though Sagarika was noticed for her glam look in her debut, the girl certainly has her limits when it comes to showing skin on screen. “I work out a lot, and am definitely into fitness. However, I don’t think I will be comfortable in a bikini,” she says.

Sagarika will next be seen as a lawyer in Fox opposite Arjun Rampal. And obviously, Sagarika is all praise for her co-star. “Arjun put me completely at ease. He would rehearse my lines with me and help me out.

With Sunny Deol, you have a different equation. But yes, he has this aura around him,” she says. And though Sagarika got along with her male co-stars, rumour has it that the girl was involved in a catfight with Udita Goswami, who’s also a part of the cast.

“That’s the strangest story I have heard. It would’ve been okay, if Udita and I had been just cordial, but we are good friends. We even workout together. It’s strange to hear about our fight,” she clarifies adding, “I am a non-filmi person. I can’t pretend to be friends with someone. Udita and I get along with each other and that’s for everyone to see.”

Considering the fact that she calls herself a non-filmi person, how does she take her filmi decisions. “Where films are concerned I go by my instincts. Even where making friends is concerned I know that I can’t be friends with everyone. There are some people you get along with,” she says.
Talking about her Bollywood journey so far she says, “I am no one to judge myself. But things are different now. With Chak De..., you didn’t have to worry about your make-up clothes, etc, as it was a sports film, but now all these things do make a difference,” she points.

Salman Khan's pet dog passes away

Salman Khan's pet dog passes away
Salman Khan's beloved pet died early yesterday morning, six months after her companion, MySon. Salman Khan's beloved pet MyJaan died yesterday at an animal hospital in Parel. MyJaan had been suffering for the last couple of months. In June, she had been admitted to the same hospital. When she was admitted then, she was seriously sick and was given a separate room. At that time, when Salman had driven down MyJaan in the night, she was in a very critical. She subsequently recovered.

Says a source, "MyJaan had been ill for some time. Also, she had been missing MySon, another dog of Salman, ever since he passed away earlier this year. On Tuesday evening, Salman attended the music release of Boney Kapoor's Wanted and then rushed to shoot for Vipul Shah's London Dreams.

It was early yesterday morning that he was told of MyJaan's death. Salman rushed home, went to his Panvel farm to bury MyJaan and came back later that morning. Last evening, he was shooting for 10 Ka Dum but he was in a very low mood and couldn't concentrate. His normal cheerful demeanour was missing. Salman doted on his two dogs and never considered them as animals but like his family. Now with MyJaan's death he's devastated."

Sanjay Dutt sings for Alladin

Sanjay Dutt sings for Alladin
Dutt Tere Ki! Sanjay Dutt tricked into performing a last-minute song

Everyone who’s someone in the film industry knows Sanjay Dutt loves to sing. He did so in the two Sanjays, Chhel and Gupta’s Khubsoorat and Zinda and he even sang with Asha Bhosle in her album. But a song in the somewhat-delayed Alladin was just not on the anvil.

So how did the over-committed Dutt end up not only singing but also acting for the song last week? Simple! Director Sujoy Ghosh made Sanjay an offer he couldn’t resist. Says Sujoy, “Dutt Saab—that’s what I call him after his dad’s demise—sang the track ‘Maya’ for my film Home Delivery though he wasn’t part of the cast. For Alladin my music composer

Vishal created a song Giri giri re bijuriya wich was supposed to be the signature time for Dutt Saab’s character named Ringmaster.” The character is apparently a blend of rogue and angel, with a touch of the supernatural. Before they could think of a suitable singer for Dutt, the actor himself was hooked to the beat. Says Sujoy, “Though he didn’t know it we always intended to get him to sing it. No one else could have. And I was overjoyed when Dutt Saab agreed. It is a very cool song. And he’s done justice to it.”

Once the song was recorded Sujoy convinced Dutt that they must shoot for it. “Why let it go to waste? I convinced Dutt Saab to act in the song. It was too good a song not to shoot it would’ve amounted to criminal wastage of good pop art.” Now Sujoy is in a dilemma about putting the Sanjay Dutt's item into the film. “Alladin is already complete. I can’t find a place for it! But the way my choreographers Bosco-Caesar have shot the song it’s too cool to be used only as a promotional video. They’ve chorus dancers somersaulting in the air, foreigner-dancers doing flips...It’s a dream come true for me as a director, how can I leave audiences out of it?”

Sujoy now intends to slip the song into the film. “I can’t let it go to waste by using it only as a promotional film. Even if I did my producers would never allow it.” Sujoy plans to either incorporate the Dutt song in the plot or use it in the end titles.
